Crosby, Stills, & Nash : Greek Theatre

Pretty excited that I had the chance to photograph Crosby, Stills, & Nash last night at the Greek here in L.A.! I was told that it would be a soundboard shoot so I rented the older version of the Sigma 120-300mm ƒ/2.8 for a little extra reach. The newer version of the lens caught my attention after seeing it in use at Jazzfest this year.

It took a little while to get used to as the zoom ring is opposite of what I expected based on my experience with Nikon lenses but I definitely liked having that extra reach without the bulk of a full 300mm ƒ/2.8. Not sure if this is something that I would want to carry with me on a regular basis though over the Nikon 70-200mm ƒ/2.8 though. I am going to use it again on Monday night for Lorde so we’ll see how that goes.
